A Soft & Easy Evening Look

Don’t you just love going out? Hanging with the girls (or guys), dinners, clubs, movies? I enjoy it too. Unfortunately I haven’t done much of it recently, but I still like trying out new makeup looks even if I have to pretend I’m going out.

During a recent trip to Sephora I found myself with two new eyeshadow palettes; The Kat Von D Eye Contour Palette and the Tarte in Bloom Palette.

This is a look I mixed up while playing with both sets.

Primer: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion

Base Colour: Shade and Light Palette – Succubus

Crease Colour: Tarte in Bloom – Rebel

Lid Shade #1: Tarte in Bloom – Firecracker
Lid Shade #2 Inner eye: Tarte in Bloom – Funny Girl
Mascara: Mac Haute  Naughty/Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir

NOTE: I used liquid liner for my top lid and pencil for my lower waterline. Sorry, the pictures were blurring – think my camera was having a bad day.

I usually do my eye brow pencil before my primer….I forgot.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD is definitely my foundation of choice. NARS Concealer is fantastic for those undereye areas and to help add highlighting.

Laura Mercier has a great cream contour kit which I love. The shade options and its formula never irritates my skin. I use a buffing brush to really blend any harsh contour lines. Sephora’s #62 Pro Buffing brush is great for the job.

I like using Ben Nye Banana powder for an added highlight. Baking takes a bit of time so I only really use it for those special occasions. The Sephora #59 Precision powder brush is great for brushing away the excess powder.

I love to accent my contour with a nice deep blush and add more glow to the high points with a highlighter/illuminator.

Finish everything off with a lipstick colour of your choice. MAC Prep and Prime lip primer is a definite must for me before applying any kind of lip colour. MAC Fix+ spray & NYX Dewy look setting spray are the last steps to every makeup routine. NYX is the newbie in my collection but I am definitely loving they low cost, high quality brand.
